You build your catalog from a built-in catalog of cards and sealed product. Search for an item, pick the printing and the conditions you stock, set quantities, and Synq creates the Shopify product and prices every condition from the live market. You do not type card data by hand or look up prices yourself.
Add a product
- Open Add products in Synq.
- Search by card name, set, or collector number.
- Pick the printing you sell, for example Normal, Foil or 1st Edition.
- Select the conditions you stock and set a quantity for each.
- Add the product. Synq creates it in Shopify and prices every condition.
Singles and sealed product are added through the same flow. Synq detects which kind an item is and applies the matching template and settings.
What Synq fills in for you
Synq builds the product from your product template: the title, description, and any optional extras you turned on, such as category, product type, SKU and barcode. It prices each condition from the market using your pricing strategy and price rules, and places the product in the right Shopify collection. The product is ready to sell as soon as you add it.
Change details before adding
You can adjust the title, description, conditions, stock and price for a specific card before you add it. Your template supplies the defaults, so you rarely need to change anything.
Singles vs sealed product
Synq sells two kinds of product, and handles each correctly.
Singles are individual cards. Each has:
- Printings such as Normal, Foil or 1st Edition, each with its own market price.
- Conditions such as Near Mint and Lightly Played, each a separate variant with its own price and stock.
Sealed product is factory-sealed items like booster boxes, bundles and starter decks. Because it is sealed, it is sold as a single Unopened unit rather than graded by condition. Sealed items can also carry a UPC or GTIN barcode from the catalog, which singles do not have.
You can treat the two differently:
- Use a separate template for singles and sealed, so each gets its own title and description format. See product templates.
- Send singles and sealed to different collections per game, so booster boxes and singles land in the right place. See choose your games and collections.
How conditions become variants
When you add a single, every condition you select becomes a Shopify variant under a "Condition" option. Synq supports five conditions:
| Code | Condition |
|---|---|
| NM | Near Mint |
| LP | Lightly Played |
| MP | Moderately Played |
| HP | Heavily Played |
| DMG | Damaged |
Each variant has:
- Its own price, calculated from the market for that condition, your pricing strategy and your price rules.
- Its own stock quantity.
So one card can sell as NM, LP, MP and more at the same time, with a Near Mint copy and a Lightly Played copy priced correctly relative to each other. Sealed product does not use these conditions; it sells as a single Unopened variant.
Choose which conditions to offer
Set your store defaults on the Catalog settings page in Synq. These defaults apply to new products, and you can change the conditions for a specific card when you add it.
Set and manage stock
You set a quantity per condition (or per sealed item) when you add a product, and you change quantities later through Synq's stock actions.
The price sync updates the price only. A repricing run never changes your stock, so syncing prices and adjusting quantities stay independent.
