Adding stock
Import a spreadsheet
Import a CSV from TCGplayer or your own sheet. Synq matches every row to its card, creates what's new and adds stock to what you have.
Where to start
In Add products, open Import › From TCGplayer or From a spreadsheet. In the setup, pick Import my file.
The page is called Import a spreadsheet and has four steps: Spreadsheet, Columns, Review and Import.
Your file
- CSV, TSV or TXT. Excel and Numbers files are refused. In Excel, use File › Save As › CSV.
- Any separator. Tabs, semicolons and commas are found for you, and so is the text encoding.
- Title rows above the header are fine.
- Each row needs a product name, a barcode or a TCGplayer ID.
- Download a template gives you a CSV with the columns ready.
Columns
Synq reads headers in English and Spanish. Check each one in the Columns step, or set it to Don't import.
Columns it understands: Product name, TCGplayer ID, TCGplayer SKU, Barcode, Game, Set, Card number, Printing, Condition, Quantity, Location, Price, Cost and Status.
When a column is missing, each row gets a quantity of 1, your first location, your default condition and the market price.
TCGplayer exports
A TCGplayer inventory export is found for you. Its rows carry the exact SKU, so card, printing and condition are exact.
It usually skips straight to Review. By default, its stock replaces the stock you have.
Review
Synq matches rows by TCGplayer SKU first, then TCGplayer ID, barcode, exact name and close name.
Tabs show All, New, In your store and To answer.
A row that fits several products shows "{n} products fit". Pick the one on your shelf. A row with no match can be searched or left out.
Import options
- Products you already sell: Add the sheet's stock, Make the sheet's stock their stock or Leave them as they are.
- Price of new products: Your price rules (the default) or The price in your sheet.
- New products start as: what your sheet says, Draft or Active.
- Channels for new products.
- Save the barcodes from your sheet on the products.
Run the import
The import runs in the background, so you can leave the page.
When it's done, rows that were left out download as a CSV with the reason on each row. Past imports are under Sheets you imported.
Good to know
- 5,000 products per import. Split a bigger file.
- Plan limit. New products past your plan's limit aren't created. Stock for products you already have still goes in.
- A game isn't in Synq. Use Request this game in the import.
- There is no export. Synq doesn't download your stock as a file.
