What cost is
Cost is Shopify's Cost per item, per condition. Synq and Shopify share it, so an edit in either place shows in both.
Set your cost
- When you add a card: Cost paid in Pricing configuration, as an amount or a percent of market (1 to 100%).
- For many products: Inventory › select products › Cost panel.
- A default for new products: Settings › Pricing › What you pay › Share of market price. Leave it empty for no default cost.
- Linked products bring the cost they have in Shopify.
See your margin
Show the Cost and Margin columns in Inventory with Columns.
Margin is the Listed price minus cost, with its percent. A red Below cost badge marks products selling under cost.
Sort by cost or margin to find them fast.
Never sell under cost
In a price rule's Define minimum step, pick Your cost and add a percent or an amount. See Minimums and rounding.
Good to know
- Cost doesn't change prices by itself. Only a minimum based on cost uses it.
- No cost means no cost minimum for that product.
